So, we've probably all heard of the term, "Curiosity killed the cat" and all, which is like, it can be dangerous to be too curious. So when my parents and all say something and I'm being really curious, I often say, "Well, they did say curiosity killed the cat, but it hasn't killed 'me', yet!" Idk even know when I started saying that quote, but I say it now...XD

Hawkpaw awoke the next morning as the rays of light hit her eyes in the apprentice den.
Time for training, Hawkpaw thought, stretching, before padding out of the den.
As she left the den, she saw her mentor, Finchwing, waiting for her, along with the three apprentices she had seen during Hareheart's death.
"Good morning, Hawkpaw. I suspect you slept well?" Finchwing meowed, his reddish orange pelt glowing in the sunlight.
"I slept fine," Hawkpaw meowed, stifling a yawn. Finchwing and the three mentors casted amused glances.
"Anyway, let me introduce you to these three apprentices. This is Dewpaw," Finchwing flicked his tail towards a white she-cat with black stripes, her green eyes shone in the sunlight as she nodded her head.
"Next, we have Dawnpaw," Finchwing nodded with a twitch of his tail as he turned towards a orange she-cat with amber eyes. Dawnpaw turned her her away, as if looking at Hawkpaw insulted her.
"And finally, Goldpaw," he pointed his muzzle towards a handsome bright yellow tom, his amber eyes sparkled in the light as he meowed a greeting.
"And here are their mentors: Lightclaw, Spotclaw, and Mudfoot," Finchwing meowed as he introduced them. Lightclaw and Spotclaw meowed a greeting while Mudfoot grunted in annoyance.
"Well, are we ready?"
The four apprentices nodded.
"Then, let's go!" Finchwing meowed, as they padded out of the camp.

Hawkpaw dreamt that she was hunting a rabbit. Crouching low to the ground, she wiggled her haunches, ready to pounce and pursuit her prey.
A sudden snap of a twig alerted the rabbit, its ears perked up, then it streaked away.
Hawkpaw hissed in annoyance, turning her blue eyes towards the area where the noise had scared off her prey.
"Who's there?" Hawkpaw meowed, her silver fur fluffed up twice her size.
A tortoiseshell she-cat appeared, her black spots gleaming in the night.
"Greetings, Hawkpaw." Meowed the she-cat, her green eyes reflecting stars.
"Fazestar? What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to talk to you. Now, can you tell me how you got those scars?" Fazestar meowed, now focusing her green eyes on Hawkpaw's scratches.
Fox-dung! I thought she wouldn't notice! Hawkpaw thought bitterly.
So, as quick as she could, Hawkpaw told Fazestar about how she got attacked by Glintpaw, who would've killed her if Bushclaw hadn't have jumped on him. She continued the story about how Glintpaw had gotten furious and had lunged at Bushclaw, only to end up almost getting killed when the brown tom reopened a scar on Glintpaw's stomache. Hawkpaw then told the the tortoiseshell she-cat that Bushclaw had then tried to kill her after she had tried to save Glintpaw and then had released all her anger on the brown tom, who had lunged at her, and was just about to finish her off when Glintpaw reappeared. Hawkpaw's blue eyes streamed with tears as she told how Glintpaw had sacrificed his life saving her, after chasing Bushclaw away.

As soon as Hawkpaw finished, Fazestar's green eyes blazed with fury for a few heartbeats, then grew still.
"I see that you have had a bit of a struggle...I could help you overcome these if joined me as my apprentice." Fazestar meowed.
"But, I already have a mentor! How can I be in two places at the same time?!" Hawkpaw meowed desperately.
"I know, but I can visit you at night, in your dreams."
"My what?! I don't understand! What do you mean, you can visit me in my dreams?!" Hawkpaw protested.
"You'll see tomorrow," Fazestar meowed, her body disappearing in the mist.

Hawk awoke as soon as she heard Hailstar's yowl for a clan meeting. Arching her back, she yawned, then trotted off to join her clan mates.
"This kit," Hailstar announced, flicking his tail towards Hawk.
"Has decided to join WindClan. Therefore, she is old enough to begin her training as an apprentice. Come forward, Hawk."
Her blue eyes wide with excitement, Hawk approached the WindClan leader until a flick of his tail ordered her to stop.
"Until she has earned her warrior name, this apprentice will be called, Hawkpaw. Hawkpaw, your mentor will be Finchwing."
Hawkpaw turned her head towards a reddish orange tom, his green eyes filled with joy.
"Finchwing, you showed great intelligence when you out thought the danger during the flood. I now expect you to teach this apprentice what you have learned from your experience."
Finchwing took a few steps towards Hawkpaw, and lowered his head to touch noses with her. Hawkpaw hesitated for a few heartbeats, then tipped her head to touch her mentor's.
"Hawkpaw! Hawkpaw!" The WindClan cats shouted. Hawkpaw was overwhelmed by the congratulating cats. Although some, however, kept their distance.
Who ruffled their fur? It's not like I'm going to betray them. Hawkpaw thought, angrily.
